Low down on Skid Loaders (Bobcats)

date May 01

Skid steer loaders, often called Bobcat's, are one of the most versatile tools in our rental inventory. Loaders have a front bucket capable of grading, digging, moving gravel, and load trailers or dump trucks with material.  The skid loader makes cleaning up  debris from any type of property a cinch. Projects ranging from trash removal to overgrown brush that has been laying around residential and commercial areas, are quickly handled with bobcat rentals. A wide range of rental loader sizes and types fits any size job.

Dingo utility loader (Mini Tracked) - These loaders fit through a residential gate entrance that has a capabilities of lift 500lbs. The unit is operated while standing on the back of the unit or walking behind it. This is often the preferred rental unit for landscapers around Coweta County, because of the versatility, ease of towing, and lower cost.

Full-Size 50hp / 70hp Skid-Steer - The most common size Bobcat is the mid size 50hp unit. This is the style most people think of when they hear the term Bobcat or see one on a commercial job site. The 50hp unit can lift approximately 1500lbs of material. The 70hp units have increased capacity and can easily load dump trucks and carry a pallet of sod. All our units come standard with gel filled or solid tires to prevent flat tires. It is still a relatively compact and light unit and very economical to rent.

Mid-Size Track Loader - Coming in around 68hp, the mid-size track loader is the most versatile of the large loaders. This is a great unit on terrains dealing with grading and hilly conditions.  One great feature of these loaders is their low impact. When prepping an area to lay down sod or seed, the tracks tend to not leave tire ruts. The biggest advantage of these units is their improved traction, particularly in wet or muddy conditions. This unit is a little stronger than the previous unit at a lifting capacity of approximately 2200lbs.  Very capable of moving around a pallet of sod.

Attachments - The advantage of skid loaders is their ability to accomplish a wide variety of tasks using different attachments. For example a trenching tool for irrigation, an auger system to help plant tree's or bushes, tiller's for gardens, a grapple bucket to clear out fallen trees and shrubbery, a brush cutting tool that can cut up to two inches of brush for land clearing, even a Harley Rake to prep top soil for grass seed or sod... etc. There are many options for these units that make home improvement, and contractor work even easier.
